Greetings and a question

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I've just returned to the OFF world after an hiatus and wanted to say hello again.

I've recently built a new computer capable of running BHaH (50+fps!!! yippie!) and am now re-immersed and loving it. Must be very rusty, since I've only survived 4 hours or less with all my pilots so far. Will get back in the groove soon, I hope.

I've noticed one odd think here, though, and wanted to ask if anyone else has this happen. My Saitek Cyborg FFB stick used to work very well for me...still does. Except, once in a while during a mission it just....well....stops. The screen freezes and stays static until I pull the USB connection and reinsert it. While relatively minor, it could be a real problem in a furball.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

VonGuber

I also use the Cyborg FFB ( without the program ), Living in rural SW Florida, we experience allot of momentary outages. I used to have that problem, until it ran the power supply for the FFB, through my UPS

Also, it may be years later, but you still can't exceed 5/4/4/5/5

Thanks, That gives me something to look at.

I'm not running anything over 4, so that shouldn't think that's the trouble. (I hope...)

Welcome back VonGuber. You say you are rusty, are you just now playing P3 for the first time after playing P2? If so then you find that your survival time of 4 hours is not so bad. P3 or Between Heaven and Hell has much more aggressive A/I than P2. But you probably know all this. Are you on Olham's OFF Flyer's of the World map? Enjoy OFF on your new rig, I'm jealous :good:

USB is flakey. Swap it to another USB port (preferably one of the 1st/main ones on the PC, or get a GOOD *powered* USB hub and plug it in there.

Possibly the new super PC has a super video card that eats power for breakfast so could also cause a dip here and there, check you have a good quality power supply..
