  1. Rene Stella's Nieu 16

  2. I've just had 2 campaign missions stop for no apparent reason. Both times it crashed back to the campaign manager screen (the one with the briefing, duty roster, go to field options....) The second time I ran a replay of the mission, and at the end it said something about exiting the program and referred me to the OFFlog.text file in the campaign data. Here are the last few lines. <N.B.: I haven't run OFF in a month or so, don't know if that would be an issue or not. ==== 5/1/2010 11:34:12 PM ....calling OFF.dll....... 5/2/2010 12:16:50 AM OFF.dll/patcher has exited. Buffer this run is: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX --Campaign: Returning from CFS3 and Setting Up !!Mission Replay encountered an error decoding: 2010/05/02 00:16:50 00000208 ;MSG_NEW_FORMATION;2546.0000;0401BD07;Ground Object;N49*42'44.8317;E3*18'21.8353;1000;4048;00000002;;;;; --Campaign: Exiting --OFF: Exit normally ==== The "X"s after the phrase "Buffer this run is: are really a long line of small boxes, but they wouldn't copy so I substituted. So, has anyone seen this before, and more importantly, how do I fix it? Any insight appreciated, but "clean install" will not be my first choice...I'd like to save my campaign pilot(s).
  3. Missions crashing

Thanks Al, I havent' done anything at all to the system, but I'll double-check the sliders. Who knows what gremlins may have gotten in? I should have plenty of processing power, but on the other hand there is a lot more activity in the campaigns now. Quick combats don't seem to crash, so it may well be the sliders.
  4. I couldn't get it to work on my system for a long time either. Then, on a whim, I tried changing a setting in the options menu in TSO. I the debug menu there are compatibility settings, I think with two check boxes. I checked the one for "alternate directx mode" (or something like that....) and now it works every time. You might try that, if you haven't already.
  5. Oh, never mind.
  6. Here's a shot of that airbase we passed on the way back over the lines.
  7. I'm running a core I7 920 processor on an EVGA X58 MB. I've been very pleased with it so far. I get great performance with OFF... In fact I'd say it's probably overkill, but it makes things look great and allows me to run sliders just about anywhere I want them. No troubles due to multi-core issues either, so far as I can tell.
  8. Creaghorns Homebrew

Yes, thank you! I was just going to ask where to get the spandau ROF tweak.
  9. Bug reports

Pol, can you elaborate a bit on the statement re: XDP for multiplayer? So far we've just been testing the stock versions, no mods.
  10. TrackIr 5 software

Mine starts, but I'm on a 32-bit system.
  11. vinny ridge session

Sorry I couldn't make it tonight.
  12. Can Anyone recommend a good book?

I just picked one up, actually. "The Pocket Encyclopedia of World Aircraft in Color, Fighters 1914-19, Attack and Training Aircraft" , by Kenneth Munson. 1st edition was publishe 1968, so it's an older book, but you might find it on Amazon or somewhere like that. I don't find an ISBN # on it, but the Library of Congress Catalog # is 68-20155. It's a smaller book with lots of color plates in the front section and short descriptions of the planes in the back. It's probably not exhaustive, but a nice little reference.
  13. up and running

I'd like to refly them sometime, Axe, but I can't be online tonight, unfortunately. I'll probably be free on the 28th, maybe the 29th also. Unfortunately have to miss Winston's new debut on Saturday (Saturdays are hard for me...) but will be there in spirit.
  14. Midair Collisions

Does the hospitalized result still occur if you have your settings on "Hard -Dead is Dead"? Since you mention it, I haven't seen such a result since I've been flying with that setting, in spite of seeing that the pilot was...technically....wounded. (found by looking in my UnlimitedPilots.xml file) Maybe it was only a flesh wound?
  15. ...and there was much rejoicing....
  16. up and running

I can put up 2-3 missions later on if needed.
  17. ts

I have a couple of new campaign mission conversions ready, but they'll wait...nobody else around anyway.

  20. Duck, Winston, Vasco, et. al. who were discussing the order in which pilot can respawn into planes; To get the correct flights where you want them seems to be pretty simple, but maybe not so if you use Mission Builder. All I did this evening was: open a mission .xml file with Notepad. highlighted a flight I wanted to move, to include aircraft and route information. For example: </AirFormation> <AirFormation ID="6003" Directive="sweep" Country="Germany" IsHidden="y" Skill="2" Payload="0" FormType="fingertip" OffsetScaleFactor="0.4"> <Unit ID="9585" Type="AlbDII_SQ2" PilotFirstName="Jasta 23" PilotLastName="Airman" Skill="2" Payload="0"/> <Unit ID="9586" Type="AlbDII_SQ2" PilotFirstName="Jasta 23" PilotLastName="Airman" Skill="2" Payload="0"/> <Unit ID="9587" Type="AlbDII_SQ2" PilotFirstName="Jasta 23" PilotLastName="Airman" Skill="2" Payload="0"/> <Route ID="5003"> <Waypoint Type="turn" Speed="36" IsWarpable="y" Lat="N49*39'58.8"" Lon="E3*45'22.8"" Alt="1100"/> <Waypoint Type="allweapons" Speed="36" IsWarpable="n" Lat="N49*13'6.6745"" Lon="E4*12'10.8676"" Alt="6090"/> <Waypoint Type="turn" Speed="36" IsWarpable="n" Lat="N49*15'36.745"" Lon="E4*9'54.676"" Alt="6090"/> <Waypoint Type="turn" Speed="36" IsWarpable="y" Lat="N49*15'36.745"" Lon="E4*14'42.676"" Alt="6090"/> <Waypoint Type="turn" Speed="36" IsWarpable="n" Lat="N49*15'36.745"" Lon="E4*9'54.676"" Alt="6090"/> <Waypoint Type="turn" Speed="36" IsWarpable="y" Lat="N49*15'36.745"" Lon="E4*14'42.676"" Alt="6090"/> <Waypoint Type="turn" Speed="36" IsWarpable="n" Lat="N49*15'36.745"" Lon="E4*9'54.676"" Alt="6090"/> <Waypoint Type="turn" Speed="36" IsWarpable="y" Lat="N49*15'36.745"" Lon="E4*14'42.676"" Alt="6090"/> <Waypoint Type="turn" Speed="36" IsWarpable="n" Lat="N49*37'8.2125"" Lon="E3*43'48"" Alt="500"/> <Waypoint Type="landing" Speed="36" IsWarpable="n" Lat="N49*36'12.0000"" Lon="E3*41'18.0000"" Alt="0"/> </Route> Cut everything between the </AirFormation> hook and the </Route> hook for the flight you want to re-order. Then cut it to clipboard, move the cursor to where you want it, and paste it back in, paying attention to get the line spaced correctly on both ends of the operation. After that, for good measure, I swapped out the Air Formation ID numbers. I don't know if that's necessary, but I did anyway. Then save and test. When I opened the mission in multiplayer, the flights were in the order I wanted to see them in, if players were to respawn into fighters rather than bombers. Hope all that makes sense.
  21. spawning order for MP missions

probably is, but I don't know what...will do some research... been away from programming for a long long time.
  22. mp sat 6edt

Sorry I couldn't stay...pretty busy day today. Glad they're sorting out, though..something to look forward to.
  23. I was wondering...

Yep, that's what I've noticed...hence my question about it.
  24. I was wondering...

Does anyone notice that they apparently move faster if they're closer to you? I seem to recall the very near misses seem to whiz by at a believable speed, but maybe I'm imagining it. Will watch today, if the opportunity presents.
  25. Just posted some screen shots from a MP online flight over in the multiplayer forum. It was a beautiful area to fly in - part of N. Italy. Mission courtesy of Sweeteye. If any of you are sitting on the fence about MP, you should give it a try. Very good group and lots of fun stand-alone missions flown cooperatively with the other live players on your wing...an entirely different feel than playing alone.
