Cliff7600 Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Hi! This post is about the WOV A-7A cockpit data. As I was practising carrier landing, I saw that the stock A-7A radar altimeter didn't give the right values. I don't know if the level 08 patch fixes the problem, I'm running a WOE/V 06 install. After a "really exciting" tuning session, it could be something like that : [RadarAltimeter] Type=RADAR_ALTIMETER NodeName=needle_radar_altimeter MovementType=ROTATION_Y ValueUnit=FEET Set[01].Position=0.0 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=30.0 Set[02].Value=50.0 Set[03].Position=60.0 Set[03].Value=100.0 Set[04].Position=90.0 Set[04].Value=150.0 Set[05].Position=120.0 Set[05].Value=200.0 Set[06].Position=129.0 Set[06].Value=300.0 Set[07].Position=145.0 Set[07].Value=500.0 Set[08].Position=180.0 Set[08].Value=1000.0 Set[09].Position=219.0 Set[09].Value=2000.0 Set[10].Position=270.0 Set[10].Value=5000.0 It could be better with the 10,000 and 20,000 ft values, but I don't think it's very necessary... If you got more accurates data, feel free to correct. Thanks for reading :) Cliff
Cliff7600 Posted November 29, 2009 Author Posted November 29, 2009 In fact, there's many planes that really deserve a little radar altimeter calibration. This time it's the F-4B (Stock ThirdWire) For the F-4B cockpit : [RadarAltimeter] Type=RADAR_ALTIMETER NodeName=needle_radalt MovementType=ROTATION_Z ValueUnit=FEET Set[01].Position=0.0 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=37.0 Set[02].Value=50.0 Set[03].Position=71.0 Set[03].Value=100.0 Set[04].Position=100.0 Set[04].Value=150.0 Set[05].Position=120.0 Set[05].Value=200.0 Set[06].Position=150.0 Set[06].Value=300.0 Set[07].Position=180.0 Set[07].Value=500.0 Set[08].Position=231.0 Set[08].Value=1000.0 Set[09].Position=255.0 Set[09].Value=1500.0 Set[10].Position=267.0 Set[10].Value=2000.0 Set[11].Position=297.0 Set[11].Value=3000.0 Set[12].Position=327.0 Set[12].Value=5000.0 It's useless if you like the game HUD, but I like it better this way
sony tuckson Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 no need to worry about the 10000 and higher figures....radar altimeter usually don't work higher than 5000 feet AGL
Cliff7600 Posted December 2, 2009 Author Posted December 2, 2009 Hi :) For the F-4J Cockpit [RadarAltimeter] Type=RADAR_ALTIMETER NodeName=needle_radalt MovementType=ROTATION_Z ValueUnit=FEET Set[01].Position=0.0 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=37.0 Set[02].Value=50.0 Set[03].Position=71.0 Set[03].Value=100.0 Set[04].Position=97.0 Set[04].Value=150.0 Set[05].Position=117.0 Set[05].Value=200.0 Set[06].Position=149.0 Set[06].Value=300.0 Set[07].Position=170.0 Set[07].Value=400.0 Set[08].Position=201.0 Set[08].Value=600.0 Set[09].Position=233.0 Set[09].Value=1000.0 Set[10].Position=255.0 Set[10].Value=1500.0 Set[11].Position=269.0 Set[11].Value=2000.0 Set[12].Position=298.0 Set[12].Value=3000.0 Set[13].Position=330.0 Set[13].Value=5000.0 See ya...
