Lomac V1.02 Patch Update

Recommended Posts

Here's the latest from Carl:

Today we received Beta 10 of the V1.02 patch.

We have just started testing it and things look very good so far. If we are satisfied with this build over the next few days then Beta 10 could likely be the Release Candidate.

I caution all of you to be aware that if we find a serious problem it will mean there will have to be a Beta 11 build.

We are optimistic, but there are many factors to consider so we also be guarded.

Either Matt or myself will update this thread when we have more information.

For now, we are going to concentrate on testing this latest build of the patch.

Cheers,

Carl

Just hope this comes fruition and my patience can hold out. It looks to be a great advance for the game. Keep up the good work E.D. :D

To further update Beta 10, here's the latest from Carl.... it's not good.... :(

We tested Beta 10 all day and into the evening. Unfortunately, in a prime example of why we don't like to get to comfortable that we are finished, we have found several serious problems that have been introduced into the code since Beta 9. These problems are serious enough that we have to have them fixed which means, you guessed it... Beta 11.

In MP we see a problem with respawning that corrupts the entire session. This problem did not exist previously. Another MP is related to rearming where the program does not recognize the new loadouts. Both are serious enought to require another build of the program.

The Training Missions appear to be working properly, but we'll know for sure when all the coding is done.

The results of tonight's testing reinforce the variable nature of this work and highlight the importance of not rushing things and not getting our hopes up too far. This is why we are so reluctant to make predictions about release dates.

Our work continues.

I also wanted to comment about the list of bugs that was listed on the Russian forum that many of you are seeing referenced in postings. That list is composed of reported bugs that we have listed in our bug database, but is really a list of things that were found while coding or were introduced and then fixed as a result of the work being conducted on the V1.02 patch. Taken together with our database and listing of reported bugs, the list that was posted is part of the overall record of what we have been working on for these past few months.

That's all for now. Stay tuned.

Carl

And then, approximately 12 hours later, Carl posted the following... it's better... :P

We received a new build this morning and are testing. Stay tuned.

Carl

We'll have to wait and see what this build brings.
