RichardG Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I would like to eliminate overcast and thunderstorm weather from my campaigns. Can it be done?
Stick Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 yes, in your terrain ini look for the following in bold or simply add the same. I dont know how this works in SF2 but it ought to be the same only in your mod folder. [Terrain] TerrainFullName=Desert Storm CatFile=..\GermanyCE\GermanyCE.cat DataFile=DS_data.INI TargetFile=DS_targets.INI TargetTypeFile=DS_types.INI MovementFile=DS_movement.INI NationsFile=DS_nations.INI BriefingText=DS_briefing.INI DogfightFile=DS_dogfight.INI DogfightOnly=FALSE Longitude=44.433 Latitude=33.333 [Map] FilenameFormat=PlanningMap%d.bmp Width=1000000.0 Height=1000000.0 NumZoomLevels=3 [WeatherChance] ScatteredChance=55 BrokenChance=35 OvercastChance=8 InclementChance=2 you can edit as per your preference. This is what Im using in ODS
Squiffy Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 And remember, the remaining percentage is for CLEAR. I've found that the sim can default to overcast and inclement regardless of your weather settings, the first time you run the sim. After that, it will apply your settings in the terrain ini. If you don't have a terrain.ini, it will use the one from the cat file so make sure you unpack that too. I would like to know what the update rate line does in the environment.ini where the cloud settings are. Does that effect how often the sim resets the weather, and THEN the probability number take effect, or is it something else entirely?
