+Cliff7600 Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Great terrain Baltika , but I didn't find Chtulhu yet. Let me share with you what I discovered : I looove the Attu Islands Air Base approach, heading 210. I did it in a F-111. The mountain is too high to perform the direct approach, the F-111 should have been too fast to land safely. So it requires a landing pattern but there's just enough place between the outermarker and the mountain to make the final 180° turn at ~150knt. It looks like a carrier landing! After a 2 hours and 50' long flight that's a great surprise! (none of my wingmen survived the approach) Thanks for that challenging terrain! Quote
Guest Raden Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010
Thank you very much Baltika and the others for another fabulous terrain. In my perception the most impressive we've seen up to now. It REALLY feels like a mix between Canada and Norway and I could spend hours diving and turning through the valleys and around the mountains (except being bothered by all sorts of nasty Flankers
and Floggers)..... It's like playing golf: it's the game that matters but the scenery adds a lot !!!!!!!!!

Hou doe,

Derk

http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=6795 Derk, if u have not DL-ed it, do it ASAP, and I believe u will be enjoying very much the many really treacherous valleys in this terrains. BTW, thanks for the update on targets here. C ya all later. Quote
DaniloE31 Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 (edited) Great Mod! Absolutely first class! Right now my favourite terrain where to shot dowm MiGs! ... (none of my wingmen survived the approach) ... Surely there is no need to improve anything in this Mod, but if someone like me hate to lose all wingmen on the approach after having saved their a$$es in the battle, they could change this in the KAMCHATKA_TARGETS.INI: ... [TargetArea008] Name=CASCO COVE CGS ///Position=1292750,446412 <--- comment this out Position=1304790,448510 <--- add this new line Radius=5656.854492 ActiveYear=0 Location=4 Alignment=FRIENDLY AirfieldDataFile=german_airbase1.ini NumSquadrons=6 Target[001].Type=Runway1 Target[001].Offset=0.00,0.00 ///Target[001].Heading=220 <--- comment this out Target[001].Heading=90 <--- add this new line ... [TargetArea020] Name=SHELIKHOVO-1 ///Position=334125,199287 <--- comment this out Position=334080,199230 <--- add this new line Radius=8485.281250 ActiveYear=0 Location=6 Alignment=FRIENDLY AirfieldDataFile=soviet_airbase4.ini NumSquadrons=3 Target[001].Type=Runway6 Target[001].Offset=0.00,0.00 ///Target[001].Heading=020 <--- comment this out Target[001].Heading=0 <--- add this new line ... This will shift the position of the Shelikhovo and Casco Cove AB just slightly and bring them in more convenient position. Edited May 19, 2010 by DaniloE31 Quote
