Sky Blue Fokker Triplane

I have this vague memory of a Revell model Fokker Triplane which I put together as a kid. Sky blue. I think it was a Werner Voss aircraft. For you experts, two questions:

 

1. Did this plane exist?

2. If so, is there a skin to match it anywhere?

 

The research I've done so far is ambivilent. The Werner Voss triplane here has a skin which combines sky blue and green streaks (mostly green).

The streaked finish was the way the pigment was applied to the fabric. Voss' DR-I was said to be a silvery blue color. At least that is how profile artists represent it. I have a 1/48th scle either Eduard or Revell kit, that is in the markings of Kemp's plane from Jasta 2 I think it is. It's an older kit though that rescued from a rubbish bin. It's still in the box, as I haven't had the desire to assemble it.

Discussions of Voss' DrI are remarkably similar to discussions about who fired the magic BB on 21 April. The skin that you see in OFF is what we believe it looked like.

It is always partly guesswork, when you try to determine colours from B/W photographs.

LOL! Quite possible, Olham. But regardless of what color Voss' plane was, he was still likely the best dog fighter of the entire War.

It seems RAF, that you've an attraction for pink planes. Could it be a middle age crisis?

Possibly. But more likely it's due to the fact that I've been swilling Pepto-Bismol like water for a while due to a touchy stomach whenever I eat really spicy food. The day I did Olham's plane I'd had curry the night before. Last night I had a big ol' bowl of five-alarm chili with extra jalapenos. So on each occasion there, for inspiration, sat that God-awful pink bottle on my desk next to the computer.
