AviationJoe 0 Posted February 26, 2010 Hello friends. I am new to this forum and Im from Iceland so my englis is maybe not very good but i hope you understand me:) Well im been playing alot of sims since i got my first computer, Lock on, Faclon:AF and all of oleg maddoz games, never had any problem but few days ago when i went to play Falcon:AF i had a little problem that kind of ruins my joy of playing that game. When im up in the air i find mysel unable to control my trottle, it describes in that up in the air i push the trottle forward for full power, get the RPM to top but the hmm i dont know the englis word for it "the tube in the rear of the F-16 were the big flame comes out" it want open up completly so im not getting all the power i am asking for. I went to setting and tryed to change something there, but then when i went back in the air i found a new problem, now the "tube" is opening up completly but like in situasion when i, landing the bird, im not getting the RPM down to zero like when i want to slow down to flare just upon "touch ground". Does anyone here know what my problem is? I hope you understand me and can help me out. but save flying and thank you all for this wonderful forum. Jóhann Friðrik. Slartibartfast 153 Posted February 26, 2010 Greetings... This sounds like a problem with the Joystick not being able to use it's full range of motion... does the Throttle work okay with the Keyboard + and - ? If it does then the problem is with the throttle section of the Joystick.
emengency 0 Posted February 26, 2010 Hi Johann. the behaviour of the jet engine in my SIM looks like this: Throttle IDLE means about 70 % RPM, NOZZLE then 20 % at about 80 % RPM NOZZLE is zero from 101 to 105 % RPM NOZZLE moves from 0 to 100 % ( afterburner is on ) That is what the gauges show me. Your question sounds a little bit difficultly but again : engine idle is 70 % RPM, below this it won't run if you cannot reach the throttle range from 70 to 105 % RPM then I think the problem is a wrong calibration of your joystick. Try to calibrate it in your Operating System and in Falcon AF. Watch the point ( green line ) of the afterburner. Is it set too late or early ?? That is all I can say Greetings from Germany
