Red Alert - Vietnam

Red Alert Vietnam

Those are expanded SF2 Vietnam campaigns, to include the red side. In the original Thirdwire campaigns, one can only fly the American side. These campaigns allow you to fly the North Vietnamese air force aircraft during the Vietnam war.

Flyable aircraft are:

Mig- 17F

Mig- 21F

Mig- 21PFM

Mig- 21MF

Before installing the campaign, the VPAF aircraft or cockpits must be downloaded from combatace site and installed in SF2 Vietnam.

The early Mig 17F cockpit can be downloaded here:

http://forum.combatace.com/files/file/9178-ordways-early-mig-pits-upgraderepair-package/

The Mig- 21 variants can be downloaded here:

http://forum.combatace.com/files/file/9488-mig-21-complete-pack-sf2-europe-12/

Installation:

1. Install the required Red aircraft as indicated above.

2. Unrar

3. Copy and paste the campaign into your SF2I mod folder.

Enjoy

Is this compatible with the Expansion Pack installed?

Yes, it is.

Here some screenshots from SF2v Expansion Pack installed:

Folks:

This mod may well work with the SF2V Expansion Pack, but the campaign files included here are modified versions of the stock campaigns. Thus, they do not incorporate any of the customizations made in the Expansion Pack campaigns, including all the new aircraft and textures.

Mind you, that's no knock against this mod. Users should be clear on how this mod interacts with the Expansion Pack, though.

I think these provide new campaigns (and campaign files) that are named different, and therefore install along with the modified exp pack campaigns. They don't overwrite.

Is that correct?

That's correct. The customized Expansion Pack campaigns are not replaced.

It is only a basic text editing job, of the *.ini campaign's files, to merge between the original Expansion Pack campaigns files with my Red Alert files.

According to the freeware licensing agreement, every one can do it.
