Help needed with WoI

Hi all,

Just got wings over Israel last night. I installed it did a quick combat and it worked perfectly. Today I started it up and did a campaign, for one reason or another I had to minimize it and it crashed. Since then every time I run it I just get a black screen. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it has no effect. I am running vista. (Compatibility modes don't have an effect). Maybe there is some sort of save game file within my my documents or something. I made sure there was nothing left in my Thirdwire program files folder before reinstalling. Can anyone shed some light on this??

Not sure if you're taking SF2I.

 

If you are, you may need to delete the "user specific" folder that SF2I builds for you.

 

In Vista it is something like:

 

C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Israel\

 

(Your drive and <username> may be different.)

 

Try that. A reinstall will NOT reinitialize this folder. You need to manually bag it.

When you start the game, at the splash screen, look to your lower right, and see if it says "Oct 2008". If not, it needs to be updated to the October 2008 patch level in order to run on Vista or Windows 7 without modifying the terrain data.
