Nightshift82 Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 I would like to use other gunsights that I have for SF2 but they are in bmp format and I've tried to convert them to tga's using irfranview. The problem I have is that it brings in the background with the sights leaving me well....blind. I'm starting to think that irfranview is not the program for this or I'm I missing something? I am by far not skilled at all at graphics, but I like to take a stab from time to time. Sights.zip Quote
Wrench Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 irfan dosen't create the alpha layer needed to "hold out" parts of the background. (think of the alpha as a matte, like used to be used on motion pictures, before CGI) You'd need PhotoShop or GIMP (gimp is a free d/l) you make gunsight tgas just like you would a decal wrench kevin stein Quote

I use it to create .TGA files (mostly decals and effects) with the proper alpha channel. Quote
