Spad13 0 Posted June 9, 2010 I'm wondering if there's some way to bump up the enemy AI's aggressiveness level. It appears that after our squadrons collide, the enemy AI seems to want to break for home. I have all the settings on hard. I was wondering if there's something in the code- like set skill level to LUDICROUS or something? I can't remember if it's always been this way. But now I can fly straight and level, and odds are no EA will follow me. Even the old Red Baron game was more aggressive than my FE is now. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Spad13 0 Posted June 10, 2010 Which game(FE1 or FE2) and what patch level? I downloaded it off the Thirdwire site. It says First Eagles, Expansion Pack 1. So is that FE 1 or FE 2?
Bandy 3 Posted June 10, 2010 If you JUST installed FE for the first time, then download Peter01's flight model mod, read the Readme, and implement. The AI will make you weep!

Well that sounds intriguing! Do you have a link to which one it is? I looked in the downloads for flight models, and I'm not sure which one you're referring to.. Thanx! Bandy 3 Posted June 11, 2010 (edited) Here under FE/Add on aircraft/flight models Yes, it looks confusing, but Peter01 has been updating the myriad numbers of aircraft over time. So pick a download that says ALL (or something like that) and then if you like download the others that appear later in 2's and 4's etc. THIS ONE has 108 flight models... +gterl 1,214 Posted June 11, 2010 Yup, that's the one I'm using (the one from Peter01) and I would suggest it to everyone (a must) gterl
Spad13 0 Posted June 12, 2010 Ok, I downloaded it. I have a few questions- * I don't have a weapons folder in my objects. Should I just make one? Then do I move everything weapon related item in the folder (rockets, bombs, etc) to it? Or do the weapons belong in the aircraft folder? * I never know whether I should copy and drop the folder into the game, or just move the contents. For example, when I add a downloadable new airplane, I drop the whole folder in objects. For the airplanes that he's listed, let's say the Alb DIII, do I move his folder over and drop it in objects (which I guess would give me 2 Alb DIIIs), or do I open his folder and move the contents to my existing Alb DIII file? If so, what does this do to the existing file? * Which of his files actually affect the flight model? FE Essentials or the various airplane files? Just trying to understand (dimly) how it works. What I did was make a backup to use as a test case, leaving my original alone, in case I muck up. Thanks!
Spad13 0 Posted June 12, 2010 And if I need a weapons folder, where does it go? ThX!

Spad13 0 Posted June 13, 2010 Do I make those numbers higher or lower? Any particular ones you recommend changing to make the enemy more aggressive? I really do appreciate all the help here!
+Gepard 11,327 Posted June 13, 2010 The best way is to compare the entries of DogfightAce and Dogfight Novice. Then you see in which direction you must change the values. Distances are set in metres, Angles in °. Make the not as good AI entries closer to the DoghfightAce and you will face much more interessting combat. But dont put the SafeAltitude below 50 meters. The AI would crash the planes to often.

Spad13 0 Posted June 13, 2010 Hello the weapon folder is in the object folder unzip this weapon folder it work with all the new plane:drinks: without any problem normaly Christian always made a backup before a test I downloaded that folder, and copied into my objects folder. Which now has 4 folders- aircraft, decals, ground object, and weapons. I noticed though that some of the Allied downloaded planes (DH 4, Brisfit) don't have bombs showing up, even though the mission is to bomb target, and bombs show up in the loadouts. Another poster on here has the same problem. My Camels and Hannovers do show up with bombs, though. Is the instruction to load bombs not reaching what it needs to to give me bombs? Thanks! Sorry to be such a nuisance.
+christian59 8 Posted June 14, 2010 hello many plane have bomb in the plane so not do show up you have try to drop them?
Spad13 0 Posted June 15, 2010 Hey Chris, got to say I never thought of that. So I gave it a try. No, that didn't work, either. Loadout says I have bombs, but nothing happens when I hit the bomb button. Odd.
