Greece wins football semifinal

Greece today won the semifinal of the Euro 2004 cup, beating the Czechs 1-0. The goal came 30 seconds before the 15 min extension of time....

They played well and deserved to win. Now they will play against Portugal on Sunday, and it is just possible, though not sure, that they will become European Football Champions.

 

Athens has fireworks and 200,000 people in the streets celebrating.

I saw that game the last 25/25 minutes. Great the a land as Greece is made it to the final. The Dutch team is allready home.

I howly doubt it, this last game totally sucked. If they play like this on the final they might win but by getting the portuguese players to sleep after such an intense session of boredom...

I guess they deserved the win but i must say this is the most dissapointing championship in ages. Its not that most of the favourites left early, there just hasn't been very many good games.

 

As far as i know this will be the first time that the final is a replay of the opening match. At least there is allways something interesting for people interested in statistics

For the sport (in this place soccer) is it good that an outsider like Greece win the Game. It is like F1, it is better that someone else than M.Schumacher win. What think about Tour de France, I hope that somebody (in this place Ulrich) beats Lance Armstrong.

 

Why do they play Euro2004? The final game is the same game as the opening game ;) All the other countries could stay home :D

should be an interesting final...BOTH teams deserve a big congrats on making the Euro 2004 finals and look forward to seeing this one play out. Until the regular season starts this is great.West Ham is starting a preseason swing thru Sweden so I'm looking forward to seeing how they do this season.
