Bulldog 0 Posted August 17, 2010 I took the Sopwith Pup for a sortie for the first time after installing it in FE2, and found my cockpit to have been redecorated...looks like a dinosaur decided to fossilize in it! Wonder if that can be edited somehow, or is the LOD file not 100% compatible with FE2. Just wondering if anyone else is getting this. I'm running it in XP, if that makes any difference. +sinbad 27 Posted August 21, 2010 There is certainly something in FE2 that does not like add on aircraft. I am still unable to even get the files to load in W7 64. I'll try the Pup and see what happens. Are you loading manually or with the Jones Mod Enabler?
+whiteknight06604 934 Posted August 21, 2010 any parts of the lod in SF2 or FE2 that are not asigned a color? look like that. the only way to get this fixed is to have access to the lod and fix the issue there. It happens to lots of aircraft in both second series games. The B-58 for example and some of the F-16s have small parts that show white and the white will bleed thru everything. I have had no issue at all getting the mods to work in FE2 it's just some have this issue,it's a model issue not an install issue.I had my games installed in Vista so it might be different for you guys. Heck 496 Posted August 22, 2010 This is a problem with the cockpit lod. From the out file: Cockpit (215 polys, 645 verts) 'Material #281' Frame (767 polys, 2301 verts) 'ERROR: No material is assigned!' Capun will have to repair it. I'll post it at his site when I get the chance. Does anyone know if you can use the remove trick to remove it for now, until it's fixed?

WaldoPepper 0 Posted August 28, 2010 BULLDOG: I am also running FE2 on Windows XP and getting the same bug with my Pup. I posted it on Thirdwire about 6 months ago without any response. Also note if you zoom in with exterior view you will see the "New Pilot" left arm pertruding through the side of the fuselage. I think it is all part of the same bug. I have many other addon A/C from capun and this is the only one I have a problem with. It's a shame for the Pup is one of my favorites from RB3D days. I have many other addon A/C from capun and this is the only one I have a problem with. It's a shame for the Pup is one of my favorites from RB3D days. Try using another pilot model, I just changed it from WWIPilotNew4 (can't remember if that was the one in the original FM, but that's what it is in peter01's latest) to WWIPilot and I got rid of that problem. Some of these pilot models are slightly bigger then others apparently. This is what I'm using now: [Pilot] SystemType=PILOT_COCKPIT PilotModelName=WWIPILOT PilotHeadNodeName=head Position=0.00,-0.578,0.65 MinExtentPosition=-0.38,-0.2,-0.1 MaxExtentPosition= 0.38,-0.7, 0.9 And with Capun's new LOD, the Pup is as good as new! And thanks to one and all for the response! Cheers, Bulldog EDIT Yes, WWIPilot WAS the model used in the original FM that came with the Pup. So if you're using another FM, check to see which model it's using. Edited August 30, 2010 by Bulldog
Bulldog 0 Posted August 30, 2010 (edited) Are you loading manually or with the Jones Mod Enabler? Manually. I confess I don't even know anything about the Jones Mod Enabler. Edited August 30, 2010 by Bulldog
