The numbers are more or less correct now.

During WW2 both side forged the numbers of losses.

An example:

In the time between the 8.8 and 13.8.1940

the Luftwaffe said, that they lost 213 planes

the british said, that they had shot down 755 planes

the real number was 403 german losses.
