+Alphadelta Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Visual damage modeling is one of those areas of sim development that has sky-rocketed over the last couple of years. 10 years ago a flash and some flying debris was enough to convince us that we'd done our job of killing the enemy. It's one area where we want to avoid being too retro, but it's not an area we can compete with the big guns. Cheers Quote
Slartibartfast Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Ouch thats one very poorly Apache... Quote
+JediMaster Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Well, let's be honest. How much damage can a helo take before it just falls out of the sky and then falls apart on impact? I don't think one could be beat up much more than those pics and stay intact/not burn up. Getting some holes and panels shot off is plenty as we all know the next step is total destruction. Quote
+Dave Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 I seen swiss cheese with less holes. Yikes, that is damage modeling. Quote
Silverbolt Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Nice damage modeling! can't wait to fly combat helo! btw, i'd like to ask if it will be blood and some of this stuff on damage modeling? not only for the apache's wreckage but like enemy cars or single persons ? i have saw some Apache footage on Iraq shooting at supposed terrorists and it seems the people just blow up lefting no more than few meal parts and a blood borrow. Sorry for being quite maniace, but its in the behalf of realism Quote
