Phase 4 Feature Request/Suggestion

Recommended Posts

One thing I'd like to see would be a bit of an update of the 'replay mission' feature. It works but for my purposes it's a bit... erm, useless grin.gif. I don't mean that in the negative! In RB3D's version it told you what planes were from what squadrons, and it mentioned pilots in your squadron or known aces by their names, so you really had a good idea of just what exactly was going on and what happened to everyone who didn't make it home. As it stands it just tells me "A Sopwith Camel was hit by a Fokker. A Sopwith Camel crashed" but I can't tell if that Camel is even in my squadron or not! And I'd love to know stuff like "Eddie Rickenbacker's plane catches fire. Eddie Rickenbacker jumps out" and such.

Think it would be possible to code something like that in there?

Yes, the current replay feature is a bit crude, but it sure beats what we had before (which was nothing, heh heh). Nevertheless, there are lots of things that could be polished a bit more if Winder ever has the time and inclination to enhance it. Here is a couple of my personal suggestions. I would like the replay to consolidate/eliminate repetitive entries...having to cycle through "bombs damaged crates", "bombs damaged crates", "bombs damaged crates" up to thirty times in a row is a bit tedious. I would also like the 'dot' showing where your plane is now to be a unique color (say blue) so you can follow it within the mass of red dots that trace out where you have been.
