Olham Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Didn't know that we can already "travel" via Google Streetview. You can just type in a city or even a complete address in Google Maps; then you get the map. Left of the map is the slider for zooming in and out. Above the slider is a yellow mannekin - pull that man onto a street in your map. Now wait a little - and you will get the street view. (As far as the streets are photographed already). You can turn left or right with the darts in the circle in the left upper corner, and also look up and down. When you place your mouse cursor somewhere in front of you in the street and click, you will get there. That way I have just made a ride from the Diamond Head in the south-east of Oahu, Hawaii, to the lodge of Robin Masters, were Higgins and Magnum "lived". Quote
Bullethead Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Didn't know that we can already "travel" via Google Streetview. Yeah, that's pretty cool. In the fire department, we use it a lot to see what all sides of a large, complex building looks like for pre-planning purposes. BTW, did you now that Diamond Head used to be a massive fortress? It's still got beaucoup gun emplacements all over it. DId you see any of them in the pictures? Quote
Olham Posted November 24, 2010 Author Posted November 24, 2010 No, didn't know. I'll have to check that again; thanks, Bullet. Quote
Morris Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Robin Masters, That is a name a have not heard in a long time. My next crumpet pilot will be called Robin Masters. thanks Olham Quote
Olham Posted November 24, 2010 Author Posted November 24, 2010 Higgins was - besides Magnum - my favourite character. A funny British officer and gentleman. Quote
NS13Jarhead Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 You didn't happen to see a red Ferrari sitting around, did you? I was stationed on the north side of Oahu (Kaneohe Marine Base) during the Magnum PI timeframe. It seemed like half of the fighter pilots had red Ferrari 308s. Too bad for them that the Magnum moustache was beyond Marine Corps uniform regulations. Quote
Creaghorn Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 was higgins now robin masters? or was it never verified? Quote
Olham Posted November 24, 2010 Author Posted November 24, 2010 I think he was, cause another "Robin Masters" was never seen. But I don't know for sure. Quote
