ErwinJ Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Hi all, I've recently gotten back into simming, after having been away for just a few days shy of five years. Before I logged some serious time on sims. Starting with Janes FA, I flew LB2, JF-15, Falcon4 and SFP1, to name just a few. But after a burglary that left me without my carefully assembled system it didn't seem worth it to get back into it for a couple of years. A couple of weeks ago I bought WOE, out of impulse, really. To my own surprise I've been having a blast since then. Especially NATO fighters and the ODS mod have really put me back into it. I even loaded up SFP1 with the excellent Korea mod again. You're never too old to be a boy, I guess. Thanks to TK, his team and especially all of the modders involved for the hard work they've put in. You're all treating me to a bit of fun I thought I had outgrown and lost for good. Quote
Siddley Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Brilliant isn't it ? I had WOE\WOV kind of sitting on my hard drive for ages. Unloved and unpatched until very recently. Get WOV and install the expansion pack available here, that is another awesome combination. Quote
ZeroFilth Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 ODS ? What does that stands for, sorry, i got back into simming just a couple of days. Quote
Lt. James Cater Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 ODS ? What does that stands for, sorry, i got back into simming just a couple of days. http://davenunez.wordpress.com/2009/12/25/best-games-you-never-played-operation-desert-storm-mod-for-wings-over-europe/ In my opinion, the most challenging campaign you will ever encounter with the WOV Gold mod a slight second. ZeroFilth Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Ohhh nice, and does that works with NATO Fighters as well, or it's better to have'em separated ? Quote
Lt. James Cater Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Look for it in the downloads section and follow the Readme files carefully, It's a seperate install as it is a monster of a setup. Also, do a search in this forum and you'll find lots of info concerning it and people's adventures with various aircraft and situations. Enjoy! Quote
Slartibartfast Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 ODS and NATO IV are seperate installs. Need to be because of the amount involved... Quote
ErwinJ Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 Siddley, Yes, I've been greedily eyeing WOV to complete the series, more so when I look at the screens of the expansion pack. But there are only so many simming hours in a day, alas. Zerofilth, What Slartibartfast said. I now have three separate installs: WOE-NATO fighters, WOE-ODS and SFP1-Korea. ODS is a complete overhaul, so you need a separate install anyway. But it's worth it! Some excellent work has gone into that mod. Quote
