shredward 12 Posted March 1, 2011 Hi All, Does anyone have photos of, or can easily get to, either the Shuttleworth or Yeovilton Bristol Scout? We particularly would like some cockpit shots. Cheers, the shredder
themightysrc 5 Posted March 1, 2011 Hi Shred, Is this any use to you? Cheers, Si
shredward 12 Posted March 1, 2011 Thanks Si, Yeah, we have that photo. It would be nice to get more shots, including the floorboards, rudderbar, and more of the interior. Cheers, shredward
Lewie 7 Posted March 1, 2011 (edited) Would a faint line drawing from an in-field rigging manual suffice? Edited March 1, 2011 by Lewie
shredward 12 Posted March 1, 2011 Would a faint line drawing from an in-field rigging manual suffice? Sure Lewie, every bit helps. If everything was all in one place, life (and research) would be easy. It aint ! Cheers, shredward
Lewie 7 Posted March 2, 2011 OK Shredward here's the image, it's not a great scan
Flyby PC 23 Posted March 2, 2011 Have you tried the CFS3 forum Shred? I'm not sure if they old faces still go there, but I'm sure some of the British contingent live quite nearby and would be happy to reconnoitre for whatever you might be looking for. I forget who it was, but there was a regular based at Biggin Hill. Be worth a punt anyway. Even the other lads based further North were air-minded chaps anyway and may have been to see the collection anyway. I seem to recall either Beau Brummie or NSS posting good quality pics, but for the life of me I can't remember if it was Duxford or the Shuttleworth, but I think NSS had the Shuttleworth. It was a while ago now.....
shredward 12 Posted March 2, 2011 Thanks Fly, I'll try the Drome - if that don't work, I'll set another trapline or two. Cheers, the shredder
shredward 12 Posted March 2, 2011 Just an update - looks like the Shuttleworth Scout D, the one built by RAF apprenti in the early 60's, is privately held, and may or may not be at Old Warden, or may or may not be at the Bristol Aero collection at Kemble. Near as I can tell, the one built by Leo Opdyke is still hanging from the rafters at Yeovilton. If anyone is stopping by..... Cheers, shredward

shredward 12 Posted March 2, 2011 Another update - the Scout D, the one built by the apprentoids, is still at Old Warden, or at least, was there a week ago. So if anyone is in the London area, looking for an excuse to get away from the madding crowds....
