UK_Widowmaker 571 Posted March 28, 2011 Harold Macyntyre and John Bulmar both killed in Action this weekend....Poor Bulmar on his first op..only 19 with a mere 7 hrs on SE's...they're getting younger all the time...replacements not expected until next week. (I've got a few days off!..hahaha) Albert George is coming in on a transfer...he's an experienced pilot and Ace, with 11 kills to his credit...shot down last month..and been convalescing for a while...we need all hands to the pump, as the Huns have been very active over the front recently. Wish me luck chaps
Olham 164 Posted March 28, 2011 Which time in the war do you fly, Widow? Maybe I shouldn't, but I wish you luck to survive, until the Cavallery arrives, olde chap!
Lewie 7 Posted March 28, 2011 Is this Spring of '17? IIRC the SE5's were the first type with the wingtips like the 'arry Tate and the direct drive Hisso 150. It's a decent enough of a kite but they are a bit climb limited, if RB3D's Western front patch FM was accurate. I made one for TW, I rather liked the way they flew, kinda like an early Spad VI with better maneuverability and more docile handling. I'd expect that they would be an pretty fair match for the Albatros DIII's.
TaillyHo 2 Posted March 28, 2011 (edited) Indeed, Widow - and Javito's and Carrick's 'reports from the front' also tell of hard times at 56 Sqd. Good luck to your returning Ace! Edited March 28, 2011 by TaillyHo
