+Olham Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 My rig is now completed - the mobo got exchanged, and I can fly again. The ASUS P8P67 (Revision B3) seems to be a very good board. With the EFI BIOS you can tune / overclock it very easily - it's like Windows. It even offers three choices, one of them a rather save overclocking. You only need to press that button, and my 3,3 GHz i5 QuadCore CPU would run on 3,7 GHz, which must be a very safe solution, that even a caveman like me can get done. Unfortunately, social duties won't allow much flying until Friday. But then Easter is my big time Between Heaven and Hell! Mmuahahahahahahaaaaaa!!!!!!

Yup, Huzzah! good for you Olham, getting that rig going is fantastic. I''ve got OFF on mine and it's pretty nice. still need to fine tune things and eventually get some sort of DIY track IR setup.
Herr Prop-Wasche Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Congrats, Olham. Let us know how the new rig "flies."
+Olham Posted April 19, 2011 Author Posted April 19, 2011 (edited) Flies wonderfully - much smoother view, much more Fraps! Lewie, if you want to try my profile, just download it from this recent thread and throw it into: Programs > NaturalPoint > TrackIR5 > Profiles Here is the link: http://combatace.com...post__p__489226 Edited April 19, 2011 by Olham
Shiloh Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 That's good news Olham! I know what it's like to have a downed rig so welcome back to the skies. I'm going to attempt to OC my CPU as well but first I may have to upgrade the heatsink as the stock one that came with my CPU is kinda' weak. It seems like a really easy system you have there for OCing...must be nice. Good luck with your new rig and enjoy.
+Olham Posted April 19, 2011 Author Posted April 19, 2011 Thank you! I got watercooling on the CPU now. It cost 60,- Euro, but hardly makes any noise at all.
themightysrc Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Olham, Have you got any screenshots from the new rig? Assuming it's a better setup, particularly graphics wise, they should be very nice indeed...
+Olham Posted April 20, 2011 Author Posted April 20, 2011 I have upgraded Mobo, CPU and memory - the graphic card is still my ATI HD4870. The first screenshots were made without changes in ATI Catalyst Control Center. I will check all AA settings and max them out today. I may leave Terrain Detail on 3, cause it gets very grainy and sharper on 4 or 5, and I like it on 3. I may be able to have more Scenery Detail now.
