tranquillo 10 Posted April 20, 2011 Isn't it amazing what difference good wingmen make. There were 8 of us on our mission to defend an airfield. During our 1hr 25min flight we encountered a total of 19 Albatri . Our flight came back minus 1 man who had been posted with us yesterday. A sad loss but, at the same time, a tremendous show of flying and fighting skill by my wingmen. Drinks all round chaps and one for poor ol' Joe as well . Javito1986 14 Posted April 20, 2011 19 fighters? Yikes. What squadron and era are you in?
themightysrc 5 Posted April 20, 2011 My guess is sometime early 1918... I know that Olham likes games and quizzes - he's got one going now based on the P4 screenshots, for God's sake! Something on the lines of the above, where you have to guess the period, accurate to a month might be quite fun...
tranquillo 10 Posted April 20, 2011 Not 1918. I'm flying with squadron 56 in May 1917. We didn't meet 19 craft all at once but in 3 seperate incidents - first there we 8 that we disposed of, then 7 and lastly 4. Still a lot though. I've never come across that many before in 1917. Lewie 7 Posted April 20, 2011 (edited) If you're stationed in the Arras area you can expect to have lots of Albatri encounters in the Spring and Summer months of 1917. Just don't expect them to all be doing savvy patrols. They seem to have this fondness for following behind Strutter flights, completely oblivious to who is behind them. They're kind of like lost puppies. Edited April 20, 2011 by Lewie
