carrick58 Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Spotted this at an Airshow was wondering what models thy were ? Quote
Slartibartfast Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Okay the top one looks like a Grumman F3F... too chunky on the nose for the F2F or FF series... As to the Butcher Bird it could be a replica Focke Wulf 190 as these have been built since. Here's a link to the company that makes them its in German though... http://www.flugwerk.com/ Or it could be one a restored job possibly an A series or maybe an F series version without closer photo's I cannot tell... Hope this helps... Quote
+Olham Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 (edited) Yep, as Slarti said, it is a Focke Wulf A-type or F-type, which look almost identical from outside. The canopy is slightly rounded already, so it is not an early type. I would guess, it is an A-6 or A-8. PS: the antenna under the craft looks modern and isn't placed where it was on the originals. 33LIMA Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 The 190 looks like this one, tho it lacks the canopy armoured glass panels: http://fw190.hobbyvista.com/Dekker3.htm I see that this IL2 skinner attributes the plane to a different pilot in the same unit: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=ForumsPro&file=viewtopic&t=5731&start=0&finish=15&printertopic=1 Quote
