+WhiteBoySamurai Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 View File LCS-1 Freedom class Littoral Combat Ship This model represents the first Littoral Combat Ship, USS Freedom, in commission with the US Navy since 2008. These vessels are designed to be fast, stealthy, and highly modular. This package includes decal sets for all current and future ships of the class, plus all necessary sounds, guns, and weapons such as the exclusive RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missile. The ship can support two helicopters. See the readme file for full details. A SRBOC countermeasures system has been installed to help defend against anti-ship missiles. This system is still in the beta stages, but if well-received, will be added to my other models as appropriate. The weapon systems, collision mesh, and decals have been updated for compatibility with SF2: North Atlantic and the March 2012 patch. If you have not installed/do not plan to install either, this model will not work properly. When setting up a task force, using the USNgrey texture will allow hull decals based on the ship number. This is bugged in single missions (as the ship number apparently defaults to 90 and can't be changed), so select a specific texture set with the hull number you want. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or constructive criticisms regarding this model, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you! +WhiteBoySamurai Posted March 29, 2012 Author Posted March 29, 2012 Updated version for SF2:NA is now being uploaded. Aside from the necessary adjustments, there are a few other changes: -Improvements to the mesh including a bit more detail up close (nets around the flight deck, etc.) and slight adjustment to the hull, textures, bump mapping, etc. -New decals for the rest of the ships currently being built/planned, LCS-1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11 so far. -The ship is now classified as a frigate for integration into task forces. +HomeFries Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Any ETA on the General Dynamics LCS? That's the one I used to help design. Quote
+WhiteBoySamurai Posted March 30, 2012 Author Posted March 30, 2012 Any ETA on the General Dynamics LCS? That's the one I used to help design. It's on my to-do list. Still need more reference material and information about its initial mission packages. Quote
+HomeFries Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Unfortunately, I haven't been on that project since 2007, but I do know that mission modules are the key to mission packages with LCS-2. For example, you could have an VLS module for a missile support role, another module for SOF insertion, etc. This might make for Google hell, as you may have to research spin-offs from the original design. Of course, this also makes for a very interesting platform, as you can do all of this stuff without necessarily having to update your 3D object. Quote
+WhiteBoySamurai Posted May 7, 2012 Author Posted May 7, 2012 Model has been updated. Still no mission modules, but the ship is more survivable against cruise missiles and can finally pull its own weight in task forces. Quote
KJakker Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 The primary download appears to be corrupted, I had to use the mirror to get the full file. Quote
+WhiteBoySamurai Posted May 7, 2012 Author Posted May 7, 2012 Re-uploaded the same file. Hopefully there will be no issues with it. Quote
+WhiteBoySamurai Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 This model has been updated with optimized textures, more authentic main gun and missile launcher, and lights on the helicopter deck for landing at night. Enjoy! Quote
