CowboyTodd41 Posted January 11, 2003 Posted January 11, 2003 Please, extend your palette. Also you have to remeber that Lock-On started as "Flanker Attack" essintially Flanker 3.0. It's being designed by the Russians so the F-15 and the A-10 are there to get it to sell on the US market. and really, who wants to land on a runway that can get it self lost at sea anyway? Quote
Seawolf Posted January 11, 2003 Posted January 11, 2003 Easy Cowboy. LOL when the President calls 911 the phone doesn't ring to the air force buddy, it rings to the closest carrier. First in, Last out. While the Air Force is still getting support in place and getting planes to the area, the navy is already launching sortes. Quote
Guest Ranger332 Posted January 11, 2003 Posted January 11, 2003 Yes true but its not considered an act of War till the Army arrives. Marines can go first sometimes as they are still considered a part of the Navy (and to those that dont belive the last statement check out a MArine paycheck it posted by the USN) Quote
Dagger Posted January 11, 2003 Posted January 11, 2003 yes the Corps is a dept of the Navy..of course we're the MENS dept! Quote
*Fast Eagle* Posted January 13, 2003 Posted January 13, 2003 LOL Funny one. Heard that one before, but still funny Quote
snapple2993 Posted January 13, 2003 Posted January 13, 2003 I didnt know LOMAC was supposed to be Flanker 3.0, thanks for the info, that explains alot. Uncle Sams Misguided Children, do all the real work, the army comes in to mop up. Is there gonna be a flanker 3.0, anyway? Cheers, Jay Quote
Guest Ranger332 Posted January 13, 2003 Posted January 13, 2003 lol better check your history bro Army even did most of the anphibious operations. US ARMY GRAD of lil creek va anphib warfare schoolhttp://www.warfoto.com/prelude4.htm The 504th would jump and seize key airfields around Rome. Additional troops would then be flown into these airheads while the heavier tank destroyer units would make amphibious landings. However due to the Italians' unwillingness to fight the Germans the operation was called off on 8 September. At 0330 on 9 September the amphibious landings at Salerno began. The Allied hold on the beachhead became tenuous when, on 12 September, the Germans launched a successful counterattack. The situation became so critical that Gen. Mark Clark ordered the 82nd to prepare to drop directly on the beachhead Commander of the 5th Army, "responsible for saving the Salerno beachhead." and lets not forget 82ABN was in the persian gulf 33 days before any marines could get a ride in fron the Navy.In fact the marines "landed with the main body followon forces of 101ABN. CowboyTodd41 Posted January 14, 2003 Author Posted January 14, 2003 no there might be a flanker 4.0 but it will probably be "Lock-On futuristic retared recriutment poster aircraft" Quote
