Test Pilot's Report about the German Fighter Roland D.VI

Such reports are interesting to read.

This one, from 4 August 1920, shows that the Roland D.VI seems to have been better

than the late Albatros versions. The test pilot compares her to the Fokker D.VII (!).

Nice find Olham! The assessment of the Roland in Gray and Thetford's 'German Aircraft of the First World War' is taken directly from that report; no wonder it got an order as a back-up for the DVII.

One day we may have them in OFF, too. But not so soon, I'm afraid.

But perhaps we should search for reports by test pilot Lieutenant Moriarty?

Great read. I have always loved the clean lines of this aircraft. Roland made some strange looking kites but this one they got right. It would be great addition to OFF!
