Gr.Viper Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Mirage III radar screen is a bit bare. Did the real pilots also have to roll the plane to figure out the relative elevation of the target?
MigBuster Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Maybe thats why Israel replaced the radars with Ballast
Crusader Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 I made a more Cyrano Ibis look-alike radar, still fiddeling with it... Has the greenish and a orange radar bmp version, info varies and is generally hard to find on the early Cyrano I ... I have complete info on the Cyrano II and IV though so I will wrangle up something
Gr.Viper Posted August 24, 2011 Author Posted August 24, 2011 (edited) Sooo... no elevation markers is the intended design? Waaaitaminute. http://www.airwar.ru/other/bibl_r.html Mirage IIIE manual, pdf page 66. I know it's a different radar, but note the lights column to the left, supposedly marking relative altitude. Did Cyrano I have at least any lights of that sort? Edited August 24, 2011 by Gr.Viper
Crusader Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Yep, the vertical line of lights on the left edge of the radar housing, the lights indicate target height difference .. but theres no function for it in the game... Thats why I put in a radar antenna elevation marker like on the F-4 radars Closing range indicator will be similar to F-4 too, but using a different texture
