Typhoon 5 Posted November 4, 2011 I was at that race on the Detroit River. I, along with most people there honestly thought he was a goner. They said later that it was only his great piloting skills that saved him. He was disqualified after that, there is some rule that says you are not allowed to wash your plane during the race.
