Aeroproduct A-542 propeller

Recommended Posts

went looking yesturday, and found some nice maintences pdf (how to take it apar and service). unfortunately, it was for a 2-bladed version. Said that one weighed in at 254 lbs (or was it 245?)

so, I couldn't find anything on the 3 bladed version ... maybe divde by 2, take off 25 lbs for the hub, add the difference for 3 bladed?? :dntknw:

my guess is, this is for calculated moment of inertia for prop torque?

Thank you :good:

I'll take that 2 blades prop weight as a start.

It's to estimate the "mass fraction" of the nose (propeller + engine + oil tank + miscellaneous)

I found that the Allison V12 was something like 630 kg / 1385 lbs, but 250 lbs for a 4 blades propeller seems too much light...
