Unfortunately very few know much about freetrack at all I know with Trackir on Windows 7, you must install OFF in Administrator, and Run administrator anytime you want to run Trackir
+Polovski 460 Posted December 13, 2011 Odd how it's only 2 way in CFS3 though anyway.. maybe try http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/home/default.htm Works quite well and has CFS3 / OFF support via "Over Flanders Fields.ini".
HumanDrone 4 Posted December 13, 2011 Unfortunately very few know much about freetrack at all I know with Trackir on Windows 7, you must install OFF in Administrator, and Run administrator anytime you want to run Trackir Well. TrackIR is next for me. Do I have to install OFF in the Administrator account (C:\Users\Administrator, i.e. while I'm logged into it), or just an account with Administrator privileges? Sorry to barge in but I noticed what you bolded there was very important to me... I already have to rip out CFS3 because I didn't put it in the right place for ETO! And while I'm on the subject, for OFF, should my "vanilla" installation of CFS3 go in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 3.0, or should I put it....? Thanks, perhaps to keep the thread on course you could PM your reply...

Thanks, perhaps to keep the thread on course you could PM your reply... In my opinion the only usefulness for USER is if your youngins want to do their homework with DAD's computer, without messing it up. And nobody would spend a kings ransome on a new magic box, and fail in the protection area. I have never left Administrator, and rely on my Internet Protection Suite to do it's thing. Granted there are no Crumb Crunchers here, but that's the way it is, and is likely to remain When you opened the box, it was in Administrator. Why Change if you don't have to ? You Definately need to be signed on as Administrator for Trackir to function, for as long as you run OFF PS . . . Let CFS3 find it's own path, it's old enough, and after it's installed . .OFF only requires the 3.1 patch, but installing 3.1a Doesn't hurt, especially because some of the other clones demand it Edited December 13, 2011 by abyss
Macming 0 Posted December 14, 2011 Thanks to Abys for jogging my memory about starting things up as ' Administrator ' ! I set every thing up to start as Administrator, Firstly, Freetrack, then, tir_attack. ( both minimised) then, I tried all 3 sims In turn, CFS3, MAW, and then OFF.... I now have 6 axis working perfectly in all three sims. And after only a few hours flying I can tell you I don't think I will be going back to thumb twiddling. As an aside,my outlay so far is £ 4.00 for 3 IR LED'S + £ 5.00 for a web cam from a car boot sale.wiring etc.I found in my junk box.
+Polovski 460 Posted December 14, 2011 There's info in the FAQ on Windows 7 etc, installing should be OK but it wouldn't hard to right click on the install program and choose "run this program as an administrator" and also afterwards install the patches from our website http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm#Installation_and_settings then set it up as http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm#Vista_Specific
