Does anyone else find this statement verging on insanity?

His age and physical condition weren't considered significant factors in the crash, but Hersman was critical of Leeward's record-keeping and reports of the modifications that he had made. "He put that he was 59 years old on the entry form," the board chairwoman said. "He was 74."

In Formula 1 auto racing, you are considered washed up after about age 35. The physical and mental demands of flying 530 mph at tree top level would certainly seem to be far greater than the g-loads experienced by a Formula 1 driver.

It doesn't mean there couldn't be an accident in which age was a factor or that 75 year olds racing airplanes is safe. It just simply states the fact that in this specific accident his age wasn't a factor. He could have been 25 years old or 90 years old - either way he wouldn't have been able to do anything when the trim tab came off.

So, no, it seems to be a very factual, non-insane statement to me.

There's enchanced images and videos on Youtube (ones uploaded in 2011, that were blocked during investigation, but now back online)

enhanced images of the plane during the inverted part of his barrel roll show the pilots head is clearly below the dashboard of the pit.

3d Animation of Flight Path from video telemetry.

you can search youtube for actual footage, im not gonna post it because the actual videos of impact do show people being killed/injured, repeatedly and in slow motion, and TBH, isnt something that needs to be on YouTube.

Anyway you look at it it was a high powered fighter plane which can turn around on the pilot and bite them at anytime you manipulate the control surfaces w/or without extensive modification.
