+Olham Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 (edited) The sound of a Mosquito is stirring-up - listen... Edited October 8, 2012 by Olham
Hauksbee Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Pure music! When I visited Oslo last year, one of my pleasures was standing on a street corner imagining the sight of British Mosquitos, at less than building height, ripping up the street to pitch bombs into Gestapo headquarters. (regretably, the bombs turned out to be duds. Anyone know why?)
HumanDrone Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Loved it! Despite the futility and waste of war, there's beauty in the noble qualities of courage and ingenuity, hard work and sacrifice!
Slartibartfast Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Truly utterly wonderful... and it made those little guys look like they had to work hard to keep up... truly a marvelous achievement and well done to the guys to get her airborne again... as to the sound my spine is tingling still...
HumanDrone Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 And meanwhile, this one has been restored and is flying again in New Zealand!
Flyby PC Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 News gets better HumanDrone, the fella who forked out all the cash for the restored the Mosquito did the job thoroughly, studying film footage of the moulds used to make the plywood formwork. Now that this has been done, it should now be much easier to restore more Mosquitos and get them back into the air. This very workshop already has a second Mossie in production. The Mossie is my all time favourite aircraft. Simply the best.
