greyhawk Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Ok guys, anyone with windows 8, i am sooooooooo pissed. Got the To Toshibia i was talking about last week. Thought everything was fine. took 4 hours to transfer all the saved games files to my new one. when I ran woe it seemed that the built in graphics (4000) would only run not geforce g320m. got so mad i said the hell with it, formated the drive and was ready to send back and get money back. wanted to try one more time after format and same thing but what i did do is escape after the first few seconds of the game and went back to options. Low and behold there is my geforce 320. So i guess it works, just have to run quick mission then get out and do it again. unfortunatly i lost all my files for all my saved files. over 100,000 of them so i have to start from scratch. Over a year of downloads. Problem is 7z doesnt work with windows 8 now. Just console blips up and disappears. I need a new extractor that works with windows 8 and the only one that advertises is winzip for $30 bucks. Kinda tight on cash now so wanted a free one. Any ideas. It is going to take forever to download anyway so I guess that is what i have to do. Quote
+JonathanRL Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 (edited) Winzip has a shareware version that does not run out. As long as you are just downloading and not need to compress yourself, Winrar will do the job admirably. Edited November 8, 2012 by JonathanRL Quote
+russouk2004 Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Windows 8 =windows 7 ver 2.0 lol...dont like the new one.. Quote
+FastCargo Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 7-zip works fine with Windows 8...been using it here at home on our old Dell Inspiron 9. Does it outright not work at all? Or does it give an error? FC Quote
greyhawk Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 It just blips on and then off. It says 7-zip console Quote
+FastCargo Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Go into the 7zip directory and click on a file called 7zFM.exe...see if that works. FC Quote
greyhawk Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 Thanks everyone for your response, winrar seems to work good but will try the 7zfm also Quote
ktickner6767 Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 I could use some help just getting 7zip to work and extract a file. No joy here. Quote
