savagkc Posted January 18, 2003 Posted January 18, 2003 What does it mean when u install a new skin but it only shows up as a white plane? No markings (or skin?) at all. thanks, Quote
Nightshade/PR Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 8) That one means that somewhere in editing the .ini, you missed a step. Double check the read-me that came with the skin .zip file, and if there's no error on what you typed in, check the .bmp's that came with the file, to see if it's the same type of plane you were adding to. ( I.E. F-4b skin on an F-4c) If not, chamge the letter after the plane type. That'll fix it. Good Luck. Quote
Guest Ranger332 Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 also make sure the numbers are correct 000 001 002 003 if one is scipped that skin wont show up Quote
*Fast Eagle* Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 heres a question for you guys, cause its got me stumped (and a little frustrated). How can I make the F-4E have the skin from an F-4B? I have changed the letter after the aircraft and this worked for my plane only. The rest of the flight has the skin from VF-143 but the lettering of USAF, my plane is correct though. when I go to the loadout screen it starts me in the USAF for service and I switch to NAVY but only my planes lettering switches. is there a place I can change the starting service for this?? HELP thanks Quote
Nightshade/PR Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 load it up on the pilot/squadron page as a squadron. Then select all the planes from the drop down menu with the same paint job/same squadron. That works on mine. Quote
*Fast Eagle* Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 I have changed nationname in the f4e data.ini [MissionData] NationName=USN ServiceStartYear=1963 ServiceEndYear=1991 AircraftRole=FIGHTER AircraftCapability=DAY_AND_NIGHT Availability=VERY_COMMON Exported=TRUE ExportStartYear=1963 ExportAvailability=COMMON PrimaryRoles=SWEEP,CAP,INTERCEPT,ESCORT,STRIKE,CAS,SEAD,ARMED_RECON,RECON SecondaryRoles=ANTI_SHIP,FAC NormalMissionRadius=579 MaxMissionRadius=989 Ceiling=18288 MinBaseSize=MEDIUM Ihave also copied the decal file to the F-4E directory Quote

savagkc Posted January 19, 2003 Author Posted January 19, 2003 Dont know if it was a bad D/L or a file was misnamed or a bad bmp file. I found a different zip file of the same version, pulled it and the install went fine. I double checked and i'm putting it down to a bad D/L of a zip. thanks for the help, Quote
