Help my game runs only at 1FPS, ingame and in the menus!

Recommended Posts

Today I started up my Full merged SF2NA again with NO changes done to it since I last played it, (I took a break from SF2 for a couple of months.)!

And the game ONLY runs at 1FPS in the menus and 1FPS ingame!!! HELP!

I did NOT change anything at my PC and I did NOT change anything at my game!

I have Windows 7

my graphic card is a GTX 560Ti and a GTX 260 for physics.

Nothing has changed in my PC and NOTHING in my SF2NA game.

I also did a FRESH install and that has thesame problem!!!

I have NO idea what could be causing this. ANY help is VERY much appreciated!!!

A BIG thanks already in advance for any help that can solve this mystery

My best regards, Kodiak.

FIXED!!!

Sometime after I stopped playing SF2 I installed new drivers for my vid cards (forgot about that) and that was a bad idea!

I installed the 304.48 Beta drivers and in some 3D games they stay running in desktop mode with their lowest possible speed, and that gave me the 1FPS.

I now have the 306.97 International WHQL drivers installed and it all works fine again. Thank God.

Anyway, maybe somebody else had or may encounter this problem in SF2 (or any other 3D game), so you now what to do now.

My best regards, Kodiak.

It's usually not a good idea to use beta drivers. I recall hosing a windows 98 install that way, and all because I was seeking a few extra frames per second in Falcon 4.

Yes, but the thing is, I never had any other problem in other games with these beta drivers 'till I decided to do some flying again in SF2

It only happend with these drivers in SF2.

Anyway, it's fixed now, let it be a warning to other :beta: driver users

My best regards, Kodiak.

:bye:
