+paulopanz Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 View File USS Coontz (*) The Farragut class was the second destroyer class of the United States Navy to be named for Admiral David Glasgow Farragut. The class is sometimes referred to as the Coontz class, since Coontz was first to be designed and built as a guided missile ship, whereas the previous three ships were designed as all-gun units and converted later. Ten Farragut-class ships were ordered between 1955 and 1957. Each ship displaced 5,800 tons under full load, with a length of 512 feet (156 m), a 52-foot (16 m) beam and a top speed of 33 knots (61 km/h). Originally commissioned as guided missile frigates (DLG), they were redesignated as guided missile destroyers (DDG) under the fleet realignment in 1975. They were also the only redesignated ships to be renumbered as well under the realignment, with the first unit changing from DLG-6 to DDG-37 and all subsequent vessels being renumbered upwards in order. All ships of the class were decommissioned between 1989 and 1994 and subsequently scrapped. +eburger68 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Paul: I think the Pitch/Yaw model node names are not quite correct. They should be: YawModelNodeName=LnchrBse PitchModelNodeName=Launcher Also, the MissileRange is off as well. EricHowes Quote

If I have the right entries I'll post a fix Maybe Colmack could help? Edited March 6, 2013 by paulopanz Quote
+eburger68 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Paul: This is a Hinchinbrooke model. Hinchinbrooke always uses the same (or nearly the same) model node names: Turret/Gun, LauncherBase/Launcher. Attached is the DATA.INI that I've been using -- tested over a period of several months. Note that you'll need to change the name of the DATA.INI (mine is named Farragut) as well as the path to the COL file inside. Eric Howes Farragut_DATA.zip Quote
TheWarrior Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 (edited) First off. Very nice ship for the game. Happy to see Coontz/Farragut class. One problem I'm having. She won't engage in coming threats with niether guns or her missiles. Any ideas? By the way. I was doing the test in SF2NA. Thanks. Edited March 8, 2013 by TheWarrior Quote
+eburger68 Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 TheWarrior: Which DATA.INI are you using? The one from the original pack or the version I uploaded? I haven't tested the original. I have tested my own extensively, and it does engage enemy aircraft. Eric Howes Quote
TheWarrior Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 I have tried both with no luck. By the way. What is the Col file? Quote
+eburger68 Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 TheWarrior: Then something is wrong with your setup. What, I don't know, but something is wrong, because that data file has been tested for months. The COL file is the collision file -- used in SF2NA to allow ships to be hit by weapons. For non-default objects (like this ship) you can make a collision file by using a copy of the first (or second) LOD file and renaming it appropriately. Eric Howes Quote
TheWarrior Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Hmmm. Very perpluxing. I have made no change to either ini other than the othan the 5in mount because I don't have 5in_Mk18. That's no problem now. The gun works I just can't get the missile to fire. Quote
+eburger68 Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 TheWarrior: The 5in_Mk18 is a stock gun with the March 2012 patch level and above. If you're using this ship on an earlier patch level, I can't guarantee that the ship will function correctly. I've only tested on March 2012 and above. Eric Howes Quote

Hans Topp Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 (edited) Yes, it is in YAP3 along with DLG-10 and DLG-11. In the mission set 6 but not the Coontz , my question is it could be used the dlg-10/11 with this ?? Edited July 4, 2014 by Hans Topp Quote
Major Bloodnok Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 You should have the coontz if you have an up to date YAP(SET 7 I think it is), if not, try copying and renaming either the king.lod or mahan.lod Quote
Hans Topp Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 The dlg-10 and 11 had diferent name's lod, i rename they to coontz2.lod but didn't work (no tex), finally i changed the ini, rename the coontz3.lod to king.lod and works fine, thanks a lot for your efforts mates!!!! Quote
