Icarus999 Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 We used to be able to Rename the .EXE : as in - (Strike fighters2Whatever .EXE) and the Main INI: ( Strike fighters2Whatever. INI) which would then create a New Mod folder: (Strike fighters2Whatever) and the result would be a new stand alone Exclusive instal. When I did this with SF2NA/ Vietnam merged -patched April 2012, I get a new mod folder but the game freezes as soon as I select single mission or instant action(I did not bother to try campaign)... and I must CTRL+ALT+DEL to escape from the frozen screen. Anyone have any ideas whats going on here? Quote
+SupGen Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Ic, you can't rename the .EXE; you've got to make a copy of it and rename that. It's freezing because you no longer have a game called StrikeFighters2/Vietnam on your computer. Quote
+daddyairplanes Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 (edited) In your program folder(C/programs/Thirdwire/.....), make a copy of both the .exe for the particular game, and the game.ini directly below it. When you paste back into the folder, keep both highlighted during the rename. The will keep your new install similar to its copy. Other wise it seems to like to believe it is original SF2. But as said above, other than stock installs should be copied from a stock, the renamed. Edited June 1, 2013 by daddyairplanes Quote
