This video put a smile on my face, as I am a fan of "backyard engineering".  The Chevy Monza was essentially a re-skinned Vega, with a factory V8.  My old Vega (into which I shoe-horned a 283 cube small block) weighed about 400 lbs less than the Monza in the video, and was real hoot to drive.

  You had a Vega? How long did it last before rust set in?

It was a 1972 GT, it was only four years old at the time, and was already on its second pot-metal 4 (the first seized within four months of rolling out of the dealer's lot).  At 36,000 miles, the second engine was blowing through a quart of oil every three to four days at which point my brother gave it to me so I could pass my driving test with it.  It was cherry, otherwise.

I started a thread some years ago,  detailing my adventures putting that car together on a shoe-string budget: http://combatace.com/topic/35283-my-first-project-car/
