+strahi 1,101 Posted September 28, 2013 I noticed that it is impossible to lock and shoot cruise missiles with IRM, why?Is it possible to change the value of IR reflection from the target, or may enhance the sensitivity of the sensor from the IRM?
MigBuster 2,884 Posted September 28, 2013 You sure? - I've shot one down with an AIM-9 before - you have to be in the right place at the right time - the main problem is that normally I'm no where near parameters for a missile shot What angle are you trying to down them from and with what weapon? MigBuster 2,884 Posted September 29, 2013 You got a lock on tone before firing?
+strahi 1,101 Posted September 29, 2013 You got a lock on tone before firing? No I have not had the usual lock on tone! It's frustrating, I know I had a good angle, proper speed and altitude, and even more than that (all values were in the envelope for AIM-9M). I tried with the AIM-9L over the Falkland Islands against the Exocet. Efficient was just Aden4. Is, heat trace left behind rocket different from the trace left behind a plane (in SF2). MigBuster 2,884 Posted September 29, 2013 Would need to compare all the data inis for each missile as a start to see if there is a parameter in there
