When performing rolling scisors does the defending airplane has to cut the throtle all the way and expand his airbrakes/flaps? Is the rapid decelearation in rolling scissors as important as the maneuvering itself?

there are better ways to spend the energy, if you are faster than you target, you can climb, start turning before he crosses the axis and dive into him

Some planes manage their energy better than others. A vague question when there are several types of aircraft, fighter configurations, and power levels.

Always know how to fight YOUR aircraft. And part of that is choosing one jet, then flying the hell out of it. I knew the 109F in Il-2 like my own child, so much so that when I pre-bought BoS, I climed right in and was like I was riding a bike.
