For the would be wargamers out there...

Recommended Posts

Guys,

If some of you are wargamers or some of you fancy strategy and war games, I have something for you.

You have to try Ageod's Civil War 2 or To end all wars, the latest release focused on WW1.

Easy to play, complex to master, they are great but not overwhelming. Also, they respect history verymuch and units & leaders are very faitfull to what they were. Also, they are very pretty games.

Thanks. Others, click on the Brit flag for English.

Theatre: Eastern Europe, Western Europe, Middle East
Unit Scale: Division, Regiment, Corps

That's very large scale. Dimplomacy, and navies included apparently.

This catches my attention... Birth of Rome

Birth of Rome is quite good and emulates quite well the first punic war. I was bogged down for years in Sicily as the romans, like in history, scrapping my head on how I was going to beat the crap ouf of these carthaginians. Also, controlling the seas is very important indeed.

As for the WW1 game, most units will be armies or army corps. You might have to use some small units to constitute armies, but that's not very common. Same thing for the secession war game.

Due to the importance of naval warfare in the first Punic war, ships play a much larger role in this game. As such the naval units have been expanded upon. The Carthaginians have the historically accurate...

Now some dev somewhere has to make a trireme sim. Skinning those might be fun, the old warships rather colourful if  I recall.
