Geary Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I'm in the process of repurposing the Martin-Baker MB5. I just hate to see a good plane doing nothing. I'm modding it for use in the Korean War as a ground pounder. It has four 20MM guns and I've added 10 60-lb rockets for CAS and SEAD, and 2 1000-lb bombs for strike and anti-ship missions. As it never got fielded and I have no idea how it would be numbered, decaled, painted, etc for that era. I could use some help on what this plane would look like in my scenario. So far all I've done is striped it and added a few under wing weapons. Still pretty much as it is out of the zipped file. Would also like to put it in my WWII ETO install. Any help with those numbers and decals is also appreciated. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance, Geary Here are a couple of pics as it flys now: 2
Spinners Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 http://www.ukserials.com/ The above site is good for 'what if' RAF serial numbers as you can use either the frequent gaps, cancelled orders or 'target drone' serial numbers. However, I suggest you use stock Third Wire Spitfire 22/24 serial numbers (if different from the earlier Spit's) as it will be so much easier. I'd have it post-war or certainly post VE-Day and it would have used camo and silver very much like the Tempest. Looking forward to seeing what you do with this one!
Geary Posted September 6, 2014 Author Posted September 6, 2014 Spinners, Thanks, I had posted pics before you supplied the site and suggestions. I used Mustang 4 numbers on the tail and left the code letters as they were, but don't particularly like the large WWII code letters on post WWII planes. Think I'll have a go at those code letters. Also kept the paint schemes as they were. Currently also working the Blackburn Firebrand. Looking forward to seeing what I do, too.
