SF2 KAW Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm "What If" Aircraft Pack

SF2 KAW Fleet Air Arm "What If" Aircraft Pack 3/30/2015

*For SF2 -ONLY-!! Full-5 Merged Reccomended*

This package contains 2 "What If..." aircraft as used (???) by the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm during the Korean War.

They are:

Hawker Seahawk F.1A

898 NAS, HMS Ocean

Vought Corsair Mk.V (F4U-4B)

1841 NAS, HMS Theseus

1830 NAS, HMS Glory (1953)

The Seahawk has gotten a major revamp from the very old 1stGen version released several thousand years ago. It should be noted at this time, the Seahawk has "some issues" on recovering back on the boat. See Notes for more info. Hopefully, someone can fix this.

It also gets a 'new' cockpit, courtesy of Stary.

The Corsair has 2 skins, both with Korean era "invasion stripes", but 1841 NAS is in USN DGNB. Essentialy, a RN marked USN bird, carrying UK ordanance (ok, the 60# rockets). 1830 NAS has been repainted to "standard" FAA camo (grey uppers, "sky" unders). The SF2 date switch is NOT used for either of these skins. Both use the same pools of decals.

On all skins, all markings are decals. Recal randomization is set to "TRUE"

When in-game, on the aircraft selection drop down you'll see:

Corsair Mk.V

SeaHawk F.1A

Weapons, pilots, and such are provided for the Seahawk. With the exception of a 'new' rocket rack for the Corsair, it reuses most everything already in the KAW Weapons Pack.

As all markings are decals; this is make it easy for other texture artists to change the ship ID letter, and create other fictional squadrons.

For the Corsair only, the Standarn Animation Keystrokes are used for wingfold and canopy (Shift/9 & Shift/0). The Seahawks have no working canopy or wingfolds (it's an old model, what can I say?).

The Seahawk also gets new DDS damage textures, and many smaller 'tweeks' (again, see Notes below).

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! Also, as usual, give the "Notes and Comments" section a read, too. In the Seahawk's aircraft folder, is my original (2008) what-if readme.

Happy Landings & Have Fun!!
