This is the black weirdness I found on the new PTO P-40B, which I mentioned. Fly the aircraft without the Decals folder and the aircraft looks like this, with the fuselage and wings all black. With the Decals folder present all is fine, so there is no problem, but it is a weirdness I have never seen before, so I though it was worth a post.

Also the wing MG ejection positions which need some adjustment to match the positions on the skin.

Thank for the gun fix, they are working better now.

I always use decals, but I usually set up aircraft manually, folder by folder, and I just happened to give this one a fly before copying over the decals, and got the weird result, which I thought was worth reporting

That completely negates the work we modders do, in making packages a simple 'drag and drop' into the /Objects folder.

Next time, try installing things the way they're set up. We (all the mainstream modders) don't do things like some other people, where we "forget" to put things in the proper folder order/tree.

I do think I know WHY it turned black; could have been something with the skin bmps (were actually from the E, not the B). Black is what the LOD material looks like in SF2. If you'd seen that in 1stGens, it would have been white. IIRC, it may have something to do with the DX10 shaders, but ??? However, even renaming the decals ini, I was unable to duplicate it

I've just updated the package with the corrected ejection positions, and new skins, with correct skin maps

I'm sure it was. I don't take offence, and am always grateful to modders for their efforts.

I was just reporting a weird glitch which I found which I thought people might be interested to know about.

I suspect it was caused by the over-complicated Decals.INI file, with a whole bunch of unused null entries, but who knows, and the solution is easy - just have the decals folder present.
