F-21 DLC - transform on red_forces

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I have a problem I can't solve alone, so I need your help. I'm trying to change the nation of the DLC F-21 lion to Red_forces. I have used the extractor, and changed the data.ini. It works, but the decals becomes to RAF instead of USN or USMC... it seems that the DLC use the "standard" decals:

my opinion and likely easiest route: make a custom decal folder with copies of the needed decals. change the filepaths in your decal.ini to match

Yes, it was also what I was thinking to do, but unfortunately I don't find the corresponding TGA int the CAT files for, for example, InsigniaLVWingL (I suppose it is the insigna corresponding to USN or USMC, LV maybe for Low Viz, and for Wing Left???). Do you were are the decals?

Should be in the CAT for the DLC. Get out of Objects and look in DLC folders

my suggestion would be the same as DA's -- create your own /Decals subfolder and rewrite the pathways. Easier, simplier and cleaner.

IF the insignia are standard US, they'll be in one of the main ObjectData cats. Remember, insignia are (usually) number matched to their nation.

I'd start looking in objectdata005.cat. That's were most of the national insignia are located

example:

InsigniaLV002 tga is the US star-and-bar, used by all our services. But it's VERY dark, almost black. Might need repainted to a lighter grey (simple enough in the RGB channels)

or for American insignia you could use the template from this: http://combatace.com/files/file/10505-us-insignia-1943-to-present/

checkpappysix's batch of all insignias.  pretty sure somthing from in there will match what you want,  assuming a good working knowledge of Gimp or PS.

Thanks guys! Ok, have found some decals in CAT#5, especially insignalv... Wrench, what do you mean by "insignia are (usually) number matched to their nation"? Is there is somewhere a table with the nations and a corresponding number?

NATIONS.ini, goes in flight folder after extraction. Dont recall where you extract it from, but it has the nation you seek, and you can add one in at the end for your red air. I'm on my tablet for the evening so i will pass where to extract to Wrench

@Wrench, when your eye and my back heal we'll start a radio show, Kevin and Kevin Talk Mods! XD

hell of an idea, Kev!!!  CA Radio!!

missiondata001.cat has the game's Nations.ini. Extract, and place into your games /Flight folder, them modify to hearts content
