Hellshade 110 Posted September 23, 2015 Hi Gents, Picked up WOFF a couple of days ago. Also picked up a nice shiny new SSD to install it on. With any luck I shall have already wracked up two or three aircraft and reintroduced myself to Nurse Gladys before Friday. Cheers, Parky Welcome back Parky! Looking forward to hearing your experiences of flying in WOFFs unfriendly skies. :)
Parky 8 Posted October 2, 2015 Hellshade, damned straight about the unfriendly skies. I've resorted to watching a bunch of your videos in order to increase my survival chances. They really do illustrate the value of situational awareness at all times. The AI in this sim are absolutley brilliant, extremely unforgiving...to the point of being almost too realistic. And yes Olham, I'm all patched up and enjoying the heck out of this sim, even though I'm getting my ass handed to me a little more often than I'd like. Cheers Gents! Olham 164 Posted October 4, 2015 ...Olham, I'm all patched up and enjoying the heck out of this sim, even though I'm getting my ass handed to me a little more often than I'd like. Well, at least they hand it back to you - Mmuahahahahaaa!!!
JimAttrill 24 Posted October 4, 2015 Well at the moment I have the opposite effect and I don't know why. I am flying in FA 3Lb from Besigheim in North Flanders. Maybe it's because I have the closest sorties checked but I fly to the target and around for 25 minutes and then back home. Someone suggested it was because I was using some time compression so I stopped using that again with no effect. I have done over 8 hours now with no sign of an EA except a few many miles away. These sorties I do mainly from the back seat just for a change. That can't be the problem as in a previous life I was shot down by a few French Nieuports and although I fired a lot of bullets in their direction nothing happened to them. Possibly it's because I normally get a close escort of 4 or 5 Alb DVs from Jasta 10 and they keep the enemy away?
Olham 164 Posted October 5, 2015 No idea, Jim, except: switch on LABELS, set to "Activity" - then you'd see LABELS for all planes within a distance of 20 - 25 miles (which you probably already did).
JimAttrill 24 Posted October 5, 2015 Now I have re re re installed WOFF for the umpteenth time I might have a go this evening in the Rumpler CIV and see what happens. I have all my WOFF installs on a 32Gb USB3 stick. But WOFF version 1 wouldn't install from there. It read the CSF3 files off the DVD and then insisted that I insert the OFF DVD, couldn't find the files and then asked again etc. I then copied the files to my USB3 external 1.5Tb hard drive and it installed perfectly from there ..... Anyway, it is now installed and patched again.
Javito1986 14 Posted October 11, 2015 Great to hear from all of you! I do not drop in as often as I should, but you know how real life goes. My email is xavito1986@gmail.com if you ever want to reach me or remind me to come back here when you do these reunion posts.
Hauksbee 103 Posted October 11, 2015 My email is xavito1986@gmail.com if you ever want to reach me or remind me to come back here when you do these reunion posts. We're trying to breath some new life into the BOC Mess here. SimHQ is rather soulless.
Javito1986 14 Posted October 11, 2015 Oh it's completely soulless. I gave that place an honest go when WOFF released, but it's like losing your job and moving into your in-laws basement over there. I don't think I'll visit SimHQ anymore. I'll come here though! I haven't been flying much at all lately, but I like keeping tabs with BOC.
Olham 164 Posted October 12, 2015 "Tabs" in the meaning of "beer tabs"? Are you trying to say - in a complicated BOC way - that you are going to buy the next rounds? Well, then let me think - I'll have virtual "PIKE's Genuine Stout" and a Jack Daniels, if you don't mind!

JimAttrill 24 Posted October 13, 2015 Can I join the BOC - what qualifications are required?
Hauksbee 103 Posted October 13, 2015 Can I join the BOC - what qualifications are required? Membership is by invitation. (at least, that's how I got in.) So...I hereby propose that we induct this poor lad into to our august (or, is it 'aghast') ranks. As for his qualifications, Well, he has spent a good deal of time hanging out with our lot here, (you do know what the 'B' stands for, Jim?). I urge a hasty vote and a hearty assent so Jim can get on with buying the next round.
Olham 164 Posted October 13, 2015 (edited) You are not a member yet, Jim? Well, as the vice-president of the "Barmy Officers Club" I hereby declare you a new member of our lot - aerh, club. The qualifications are more than fullfilled - who, if not barmy, would voluntarily spend time in this madh... in this club's forum? And now let's come to the point Hauksbee made so well - about the drinkies... Oh, and here is your badge, by the way. I hope you know how to attach it - I am yet too barmy for that. Maybe you can tell me, if it worked for you. Edited October 13, 2015 by Olham
Olham 164 Posted October 13, 2015 Jim, you can easily get the badge attached this way: right-click on Hauksbee's or my badge and select "save graphic address". Then go to your "Settings" (top right corner of forum), select "Signature" there, and click on the small image icon and insert the copied address. Save it - and done. JimAttrill 24 Posted October 14, 2015 Done but how do I get rid of the white background?
Olham 164 Posted October 14, 2015 Hmmm - could have something to do with that link line? Just try and place the text one line further below the badge?
JimAttrill 24 Posted October 14, 2015 (edited) got rid of the BOC badge and the text but the white is still there.... Edited it again. On the top row of the edit is a strange looking icon like a square with four dots in the corners and a cylinder in the middle. It doesn't say what that is but it fixed it! (it is to the left of the eraser) I then put the BOC badge back in. Edited October 14, 2015 by JimAttrill

I've always wanted the smaller version of the BOC badge, but I cannot get the pop-up menu to appear when I rt.-click on the BOC badge. It will appear when I rt.-click on the medals under our avatars. Is there a trick to this?
JimAttrill 24 Posted October 15, 2015 I am trying to be barmy but WOFF won't let me. Claus von Doodad has flown twice in his Rumpler CIV from Bisegheim today, both times on autopilot and being the gunner in the back seat. He has now done 10 sorties of 11.85 hours and never an enemy aircraft in sight. Although these last two sorties had both flights and AI Alabatri also on patrol. Maybe I should try long distance bombing sorties rather than the closest as set in workshops.

It will appear when I rt.-click on the medals under our avatars. Is there a trick to this? Hmm, strange - now it doesn't work anymore for me either... Some days ago it sure did. I'll post my smaller badge here now - guess you can save it and throw it into a gallery of yours. From there, you can then copy the "graphic address" and insert that into your "Signature" image frame. Maybe I should try long distance bombing sorties rather than the closest as set in workshops. ...or request a transfer to Verdun, or at least the Marne sector. There will be more action. If you want a LOT of adventure, transfer to Flanders.
JimAttrill 24 Posted October 15, 2015 (edited) Oh well on my 11th sortie I was shot down by a SPAD. This gun at the back doesn't seem to work too well against many opponents. Anyway, his brother Dieter von Doodad is to take over.... Edited October 15, 2015 by JimAttrill
Olham 164 Posted October 15, 2015 Oh well on my 11th sortie I was shot down by a SPAD. Didn't you say you never met any opponents, and you found it boring?
JimAttrill 24 Posted October 16, 2015 Well I did find 4 SPADS on my six and tried to shoot one of them down but there were too many of them. I think I'll go back to my Sopwith Camel
Olham 164 Posted October 16, 2015 Maybe Winder sent them, after your complaints that there was nothing going on? Mmuahahahahaaa!!!
