Stratos Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Sometime sin different conflicts visual ID of enemy aircraft was mandatory before any engagement can be done. It was possible to reproduce this behaviour in SF? I tought in one "cheat", but hope is another way too, my idea is to limit the range of SAHM to visual area (what that range will be in SF2?) so foricng the player and the AI to close the distance before being able to engage. What do you guys think, another ideas? Quote
+JonathanRL Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Well, there is a Rule of Engagements command (I think) but what it entails I do not know. 1 Quote

Nicholas Bell Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 It's in the MISSIONCONTROL.INI [MissionControl]FormationFile=Formation.iniNationList=Nations.iniMaxEventLog=8192MissionSummary=MissionSummary.iniRulesOfEngagement=FALSE I don't have SF2 Vietnam, but you'd think ROE would be implemented in that game. 1 Quote
Stratos Posted April 18, 2016 Author Posted April 18, 2016 Really really interesting, wondering If any of the gurus knows more about that. Quote
+JonathanRL Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 RulesOfEngagement=TRUEis present in SF2 Vietnam for US.I am going to activate it a TSF Campaign and we shall see if it does what we think it does. Update: After a short testing in a TSF Campaign, I can confirm that it seems like they close to visual range BEFORE they engage. The MiGs was pretty much on top of our Gripens before they even activated their Radars and they did not shoot us from afar. It needs a bit more testing but I can with confidence say that the command most likely force a close to visual range. Quote
Stratos Posted April 19, 2016 Author Posted April 19, 2016 Don't have the MISSIONCONTROL.INI file inside my folders, can someone please upload a copy here? Quote
+JonathanRL Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 The missioncontrol file is not required for the command to work in Campaigns. Quote
Stratos Posted April 19, 2016 Author Posted April 19, 2016 Will like to try it in single missions as well If possible. Quote
Stratos Posted April 20, 2016 Author Posted April 20, 2016 I tried it in single mission against US in Iraq, it doesn't seem to work as they spawn Sparrows and Phoenixes from long distance. Will keep trying. Quote
