TheStig Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Boy SF2 is very different from SF1 that I used to mod. How do you get the sounds to work in SF2? I created a sounds folder within the objects folder for the F-105G I downloaded. Still no sound. What am I missing here? Here is how the folder is set up: C:\Users\CPU1\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Vietnam\Objects\Sounds Still no J79 sound. Quote
+1977Frenchie Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 (edited) You have to make the association in the aircraft DATA.INI itself : For example [sound]EngineSoundName=F9F_1AfterburnerSoundName=DamagedEngineSoundName=FlapsSoundName=FlapsAirbrakesSoundName=AirbrakesGearsSoundName=Gear Even if you put the sound file, you have to do that in order to work. And the Sound file is an entitled file itself. d'ont put it in any other folder Edited January 6, 2017 by 1977Frenchie Quote
TheStig Posted January 6, 2017 Author Posted January 6, 2017 It was added. The name even matches the sound file itself. Still no sound. [sound]EngineSoundName=GE J79 GE-11_1AfterburnerSoundName=JetBurnerDamagedEngineSound=FlapsSoundName=FlapsAirbrakesSoundName=AirbrakesGearsSoundName=Gear Quote
+Piecemeal Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 You need to create a dedicated 'Sounds' folder within the main game mod folder and NOT within the Objects folder. Like so: C:\Users\CPU1\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Vietnam\Sounds It should all work like a dream then. Quote
