Actually heard the boom from the reentry this time, usually I don't.

I'll be at KSC on saturday when the next launch is scheduled. Hopefully they don't scrub or postpone it - I'm trying to fiddle in a visit to the Valiant Air Comand museum in TIX as well.

 

I've seen a night launch from KSC last november - was a GOES satellite on a Delta (?) and it looked brilliant. You could see it up 'till MECO.

The sound wasn't too breathtaking, standing in front of the Atlantis-center, though. Gotta try and get a good bit closer to the launch-complex this time.

 

JM did you go up north to see the launch? I was in FLL on june 3rd, but the weather was crappy and I couldn't see or hear anything.

I haven't made the journey to the cape for a launch since they retired the shuttle. Just doesn't feel worth it.

 

Maybe when they start launching people again I will.
